Payment information
Our promise is simple: applying is 100% free, and you pay one fee only if you decide to accept an offer. This page explains the one fee we charge and the external costs that may still apply to your studies.
Overview
Creating your account, submitting your application, and receiving and reviewing responses are 100% free. If you do not accept an offer, you pay nothing.
When the fee does apply, it is among the lowest of any comparable service, and it is explained to you before any payment decision.
PolyGrants Fee: USD 85–300
Due only if you decide to accept an offer. The exact amount within this range depends on the destination country, the programme level, whether the response is a scholarship or an admission, and the services included with your case. It is always shown to you before you accept, and the amount shown includes any applicable taxes: what is displayed is what you pay.
From the moment a response is published in your account, you have five working days (Saturdays and Sundays not counted) to accept and pay; acceptance is complete only once your payment is confirmed. If the window closes without acceptance, the offer simply lapses and nothing is owed.
Once your acceptance is complete, the fee is non-refundable: it pays for the response obtained for you and is not affected by later visa or enrolment outcomes. Declining an offer costs nothing.
Optional services
If you ask PolyGrants to handle a translation or a legalisation for you (for example at the embassy of the destination country), that service carries an additional fee, always quoted and paid in advance. You can cancel it with a full refund until its performance begins; once performance has begun, it is non-refundable.
What is never a PolyGrants fee
- University tuition fees and enrolment deposits.
- Visa application charges and related government fees.
- Language or admission tests.
- Insurance, accommodation and travel costs.
What a scholarship covers
Coverage depends entirely on the institution's response: some scholarships are fully funded, some waive university fees only, and some cover part of the fees. The conditions of each response state exactly what is covered; review them before accepting, and additional external costs may apply where coverage is partial.
How you pay
You can pay by mobile money, by bank transfer, or in person at an authorized partner office. When a fee becomes due, payment instructions appear in your account with the amount, the reason, and the payment methods and operators available for your country; that list is the authoritative one. Pay only through the channels shown in your account; PolyGrants advisers will never ask you to pay to a personal account.
Partner offices are authorized local agents. A payment made at a partner office listed in your account, against an official PolyGrants receipt, counts as payment to PolyGrants.
The fee is set in US dollars. Where you pay in local currency, the amount is converted at the rate displayed with your payment instructions and stays valid for the whole acceptance window. Payments made outside the channels shown in your account are not recognised as payment to PolyGrants and are at your own risk.
Refunds and payment incidents
Duplicate payments, overpayments and payments made in error through the official channels are always corrected or refunded after verification.
If an institution withdraws your accepted offer before the handover is complete, for reasons not attributable to you, PolyGrants either resumes facilitation to seek a comparable response at no additional fee or refunds the fee, at its election.
Approved refunds are sent within thirty days, through the channel of the original payment wherever possible, for the full amount originally paid: transfer charges on the way back are borne by PolyGrants.
Full details, including how unfounded reversals and chargebacks are handled, are in the Terms of Service.
Receipts and records
Every payment generates a receipt available in your account. Keep your receipts; they are your proof of payment.
Questions about a payment
If anything about a requested payment is unclear, contact an adviser before paying. We would rather explain a fee twice than have you pay it in doubt.
