Accessibility statement
PolyGrants exists for students in 39 countries, many on modest phones and patchy networks, some using assistive technology, all deserving the same fair chance. This statement says what the site does for accessibility today, honestly, including where it still falls short.
What we measure ourselves against
We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We do not claim full conformance today: the platform is young, it changes weekly, and an accessibility claim should be earned rather than decorated. This page states the current position and moves as the platform improves.
What is built in
Across the site and the application:
- the whole service is designed mobile-first and works on a small phone over a slow connection, because that is how most of our students reach us;
- pages use semantic structure: real headings, labelled forms, landmarks and lists that assistive technology can navigate;
- the site is built to work with a keyboard, and focus is visible;
- colour contrast is designed to the AA thresholds, and colour is never the only carrier of meaning;
- animation is modest, and the interface respects your device's reduced-motion setting;
- the site is served in fifteen languages, including right-to-left Arabic and Farsi with proper script fonts;
- text can be resized in your browser without breaking the layout;
- images that carry meaning have text alternatives, and decorative artwork is hidden from screen readers.
Limits we know about
Some documents that flow through the process come from institutions and authorities as scanned files, and their accessibility is outside our control; an adviser will read out or explain any document to you on request.
Some illustrations and celebration animations predate this statement and are being reviewed against it.
Third-party steps, such as the security check at sign-in and payment operators' own screens, belong to their operators; where a choice of provider exists, accessibility is part of how we choose.
If something is hard to use
Tell us, and we will do two things: fix it, and get you past it. You can complete any step of the process with a human instead of a screen: an adviser can walk you through by WhatsApp, by phone or by email, at no cost, through the channels on the Contact page. Adjustments in recruitment are described in the Recruitment policy.
Report accessibility problems to or through the Contact page; reports are welcome in any of our fifteen languages.
Ownership and review
This statement is owned by the directors of PolyGrants Ltd. It is reviewed at least once a year, and sooner when the platform changes in ways that affect it. The date at the top of this page states when it was last updated.
